As a designer, it’s so important to me to have inspiration around me in my workplace. It’s inspiring, beautiful, and reminds me of all the different avenues to creativity. I wanted to share a peak into my office menu wall, one of my favorite areas of our home.
To me, restaurants are inspiring on so many levels. Everything from the design of the space, to dinnerware, decor, menu design, and obviously the food itself is the highest level of an immersive creative experience. I’ve been collecting my favorite menus and restaurant papers for several years now, and I absolutely love being surrounded by memories of delicious meals passed.
The menus on my wall include all my NYC faves — Roman’s, Vinegar Hill House, Lilia, La Mercerie, King, Ci Siamo, LaLou, and many more. I also included my favorite photo for our wedding and a velum paper within the invitation; a nod to a vintage-style marriage announcement. Interspersed throughout are little prints and sketched that I love, plus this amazing print from the Cherry Bombe Women in Food conference, reading “The future of food is female.” I can’t wait to continue to add to my menu wall!
