There’s not many times of the year when I don’t like being in New York, but the city takes on a special type of magic around the Holidays. From the charming street-side Christmas tree “farms” in Brooklyn Heights, to twinkly lights in brownstone windows — there’s just nothing like the festive energy of Christmas in New York.
This past weekend was full of holiday cheers-ing, dining with friends and family, and trying a new chef’s tasting menu that we’ve been looking forward to for awhile. Wanted to share our line-up of reservations, because it was a culinary weekend for the books!
Roman’s /// We always love going to this small neighborhood gathering spot in Fort Greene! We got the fava bean puree, which was delicious as always. The radicchio salad loaded with pistachio, olives, and citrus was amazing and something I’ll be trying to replicate ASAP and often!
Le French Tart /// The feta and spinach croissant is the best I’ve ever had!
Corner Bar at Nine Orchard Hotel /// The burger and french onion soup was so satisfying after a busy and chilly day of holiday shopping.
Ingas Bar /// Such a welcome and cozy addition to Brooklyn Heights dining. The rabbit fricassee was incredible!
La Mercerie at Roman + Williams Guild /// Going here is always such an immersive experience for all the senses. Browse the furnishings and decor of the Guild before ordering the crepe complete at the La Mercerie cafe. SO much beauty in both spaces. All the holiday decorations and florals within the space feels like a classic image of Christmas in New York.
Clover Hill /// We walked by this charming space a few months ago and it stopped me in my tracks. When I looked it up online and saw that it was a 7-course tasting menu, I knew we had to get a reservation. It did not disappoint!
Colonie /// My favorite brunch in Brooklyn! Get the eggs and grains, or cacio pepe scramble.
